I made this for a friend that has two children that go to two different rival colleges. He wants to support each child so this was a way to show that. Also added a jig to make one or multiple key chains at one time.

Step 1: Making the Jig

First I measured the key chain to be able to create a jig to make multiple key chains now or for future use.

I purchased some blank key chains online for a great price

My key chain was 1.20 " wide and 2" long with the swivel at 1/4" and the key ring at 1.25"

With all these measurements, I first made a rectangle for the key chain at 1.20" X 2", a small square at .25" square and a circle at 1.25" (to make a perfect square or circle, hold the Shift key when drawing them on your workspace.

Now that I have all the pieces, line them up and slightly overlap the pieces so you can weld them all together for the outline of the key chain.

Holding the CTRL key select each piece individually so all are now highlighted. Go to the toolbar on the left side of your workspace and select the Weld icon (pictured above) . This will now weld all the pieces together to make the outline of the key chain. At this time you can copy the piece you just created by clicking on it and then hitting CTRL D and then use the arrow keys to move the duplicate copy to the next position. Continue this process for as many as you want to make on the jig. (see images above).

At this time I use a piece of cardboard (you can use wood or cardboard, your choice) and cut out the key chain design.

Once you have this completed, you want to put this on a too path to save for future use. The tool path will be the Cut Palette listed as T1 or T2

Step 2

Now you are ready to add the key chain on the jig and select the image or text you want to add.

As mentioned I am doing a two sided key chain with two team logos. I have selected the Oregon Ducks and the Oregon Beavers.

I found the images online and saved them. I then resized them to fit into my key chain blank.

Once I engraved the front side, I then turned the key chain over and engraved the back. With using the jog, I just needed to turn it over and click start again once I had the image in place.

Once I had these created, I had posted the pictures on my facebook page and in a week I had over 60 requests for key chains with different logos. At $5 each, I made a bit of money lol

Thank you for taking the time to look at my project and I hope this helps a little
