A classy, inspiration ornament, that is good for any time of the year.

Step 1: Place material

I placed the material on my honeycomb and aligned the laser with where I wanted to start.  This file prints both the top and bottom piece at the same time, so ensure you have enough material for both.  Each circle is about 4 inches.

Step 2: The cut

Layer 1 settings are Cut, 100% power, 6 speed and 4 passes.  Again, I use more passes to ensure complete cuts.  This adds time, but is worth it if I dont have to spend time with each one, trimming out each piece.

Layer 2 settings are Score, 50% power, 37 speed and 1 pass.  This setting is for plain wood.  If you are using painted, you may have to adjust your settings to get proper results.

Step 3: Finishing

Once the ornaments are cut, I go over both pieces with a light oak stain.  Once dry I tie a simple red loop through the hole at the top and the ornament is complete.  The possibilities are endless with the finish.  You can paint the material with a white, silver or gold paint before engraving, to give the inner lettering more pop.  You can also paint the top piece with a brighter color, like red or blue, to make is stand out.  This works really well with the white background.  If you go this route, do not use stained glass paint, which is what I did.  As you can see, it left bubbles.

Once you have achieved the color you want, use spray glue on the back of the top piece, then place it over the bottom piece, making sure you position the Amazing Grace properly.
